Welcome to Overlords, a new publication
There’s been a lot of chatter about Medium lately, and when I say lately; I mean every single day since it was incepted.
Stories about Medium are among the most successful on the platform, and there’s a good reason for that.
We’re all here to improve our craft and shoot for success, so when a story comes along that may be the key to our success; we’re all over it.
None of us know which writer is going to be the one that “finds the magic key”, but we all want to be around when that key is found.
There are just so many keys all over the place, if only there was a publication that would collect those keys in one location...
The Key-makers
Amazing writers are writing both independently and for dozens of writing-focused publications. They teach us lessons on how to work the system, and inspire us to shoot higher and hold on longer.
Well I’m sick of trawling to find what I want.
I want all this golden information collected in one place, so I’ve started Overlords.
Overlords, a New Publication
Overlords will be a publication that inspires us all to keep climbing our respective ladders.
The ladder being written about most is the Medium one, but our dreams are not so exclusive.
Some of us want success with Fiverr, Upwork, or on the Kindle Direct Publishing service.
Perhaps you want keys that will help you find success with your full-time employer.
I’m someone that works full-time, and I’m constantly searching Medium for stories that will help me achieve success in my working life.
Stories that got me out of jams at work were how I discovered how frequently Medium stories show up on Google searches.
This publication will hopefully be a place for many of us to locate the exact stories we’re here to read. Stories that help us write better and work better.
Meh, everything sucks…
I know a lot of people have a lot of issues with Medium, and complaint stories are super fun to read, just like having a juicy gossip with my friends.
But these stories aren’t helping me become a better writer, so they’re not a great fit for Overlords.
I plan on working with the Overlords of Medium to make the platform work for me.
So while Medium is an Overlord so to speak, it’s one that can be worked with.
Through Medium, success can be earned. But only if you don’t give up and you lean on the experiences of those who have come before you.
By working with the platform, we can all become the writers we dream of growing into.
As fun as it is to moan, it’s those that pull up their socks and keep persevering that achieve real success and dollar dollar billzzz.

It’s no secret that stories about Medium draw a lot of attention, and I’m going to do my best to increase that attention as much as I can.
If you write about Medium, you’re not likely to get curated. I don’t expect to have much of a curation rate with this publication, but that’s ok.
I want to inspire and be inspired. I want writers that see green whenever they tap on their keyboard.
I want us all to achieve success together! And once we’re all rich and we’re flying all over the world, we’ll meet up in New York City and I’ll buy us all a round of drinks!
