Qantas Lost my Luggage

At a time when customer service is at an all-time low

I’d finally landed.

The wheels ramming into the ground was suppose to be the sound of New Zealand letting me know that my nightmare had ended.

My ears were still blocked and my stomach was turning from suspicious airplane eggs.

I stared hazy-eyed at the conveyer belt and smiled with feigned positivity as I waited for my turn.

And waited..

“Gee, I drew the short straw today.”

I bit on my lip and continued to wait. I waited until the little black screen proudly displayed a message,

“All Bags On Belt”

A small wave of worry washed over my brain.

“Nah, it’s impossible. I paid extra to fly with Qantas, there’s no way they lost my bag.”

I walked a few feet over to a small desk where a neatly dressed woman was sat.

She looked tired, and did her best to avoid my gaze.

“Excuse me”

I said with a hopeful expression,

“The screen says that every bag is on the belt, but I can’t see mine”
