Fiverr Has Disabled My Account… Again
And this time, there’s no way back
Fiverr has provided me with a timely reminder that eggs are best left in multiple baskets, especially since Fiverr keeps theirs near a sniper rifle.
9:00 pm Monday night, I’m finally putting the finishing touches on a true crime book I’ve written for a Fiverr client. It’s by far the longest project I’ve ever written and a huge personal accomplishment. As someone who can barely retain interest in anything I’ve written past the 1,000 word mark, it was frankly a miracle I’d reached the end.
As I scanned the final page of the book for the last time, I reached down to my phone and refreshed the Fiverr app to check whether the buyer had replied to my message; I’d asked for his name to add to the copyright page.
I pulled the app homepage down to trigger a refresh, only for the app to log me out. I immediately knew what had happened; I didn’t need to be told. A quick check on the site’s desktop version confirmed my fear that Fiverr had once again suspended my account.
This Has Happened Before
The last time my account was suspended was three years ago. After months of working gigs at ridiculously low values just to scrape out some reviews and become visible to buyers, Fiverr shut me down.
