Becoming a Butler to the Skies
Only the elite become butlers
Considered the worlds very first luxury hotel, The Savoy Hotel in London opened in 1889 and boasted bathrooms in every single one of their luxurious suites.
The hotel was managed by famed hotelier Cesar Ritz and boasted Auguste Escoffier as the executive chef.
It was a titan of its time until it closed its doors nearly 60 years ago, a relic of a passing age of opulence and wealth.
Several wars have come and gone since then, hundreds of fads; and now fashion has come full circle.
In 2010 The Savoy Hotel was re-opened and was immediately booked solid. The age of luxury is here again!
The Age of Luxury
With the Savoy Hotel comes the intensive Savoy Butler Academy. This hotel and academy are one of the most prestigious places in the world to become accredited as a butler.
Etihad Airways credits the smash iTV drama ‘Downton Abbey’ for bringing back the demand for butlers across the world. They also credit the show for the world-wide appreciation of British trained butlers.
It seems we all have fantasies of being waited on in the style of Lady Mary.
